3 Reasons Why 1000+ People Want to Attend the CliftonStrengths Summit

by Jessica Buono

You have a mission, and you have passion — but how can you really separate yourself as an outstanding coach or a workplace leader? Where do you start?

Where should you start?

An essential component to your success is immersing yourself in environments with like-minded people who “get it” and collaborating with people who’ve “been there.”

Enter: the CliftonStrengths Summit

The summit provides an immediate opportunity — found nowhere else — for you to connect with around a thousand strengths-minded coaches, professionals, industry leaders and potential business partners.

There’s simply nothing like it.

In fact, last year’s summit experience was so valuable that eight out of 10 attendees in 2016 said they want to return this year. Watch this video to hear what attendees loved about the summit:

On July 17, strengths enthusiasts will gather in Omaha, Nebraska, to network, share, learn and set themselves ahead of the rest.

Will you be with them?

We — and fellow coaches — hope so. Here’s why:

The summit provides opportunities to develop relationships with people who can help your team or business.

Meeting someone in person, shaking hands and exchanging thoughts makes the difference between having an email acquaintance and building a genuine, reliable relationship with someone who can help your business. That’s why networking is a big focus at the summit.

You’ll have the chance to use your Woo and Communication at several networking lunches and receptions, and you can feed your Connectedness and Relator at the CliftonStrengths meetups -- time focused on the topics in which you are most interested.

Who is going to be at the summit? Most likely lots of people you know — and definitely people you should know. You will meet independent coaches from around the world, as well as respected business leaders in the healthcare, finance, education, faith and nonprofit industries.

Attendees and speakers will come from Stryker, University of California-Berkeley, Reliance Industries, the MITRE Corporation, Catholic Life and Faith, Regions Bank, and many other diverse organizations (not to mention, our very own Jim Collison and other Gallup leaders will be around to chat with you!).

The summit helps you and your team grow professionally.

Learner gone wild. Enough said? Well, just in case your Context or Input needs more information: There will be more than 70 breakout sessions that meet you where you are in your strengths journey.

Led by Gallup senior coaches, subject matter experts and Gallup-Certified Strengths Coaches, each breakout will provide resources and best practices you can immediately implement when you leave.

Do you want to discover a new idea for engaging people in a large group session? Are you wondering the best way to coach millennials? How do you efficiently roll out a strengths program in an organization?

These are just a few of the hot topics you can choose.

Also, remember that the summit provides a speaking opportunity for you or your company. Not only do we want you to attend, but we also want you to get your brand out there and share your expertise with us. We’d love for you to ideate and think about how you could share your experiences or teach at the 2018 summit.

You’ll get expert advice (not the same old stuff you see online already) from coaching and industry leaders who have years of experience putting strengths-based approaches into action.

We are proud to feature phenomenal keynote speakers this year — Deepak Chopra, Tom Rath and Jim Clifton — along with multiple speakers who will deliver novel ideas in their "Ted Talk"-style presentations.

Deepak Chopra is “one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century” according to TIME magazine — and a “soul-refreshing-must-see-in-person” speaker according to my hip, young Gallup colleagues. Deepak is a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation, and he is the epitome of Connectedness.

Tom Rath is a researcher, author and filmmaker who studies the role of human behavior in business, health and well-being. He is one of the greatest thinkers and nonfiction writers of his generation, as described by media and business leaders. Learn how he uses his Command to succeed in his craft.

Other mainstage speakers include Josh Marcuse from the Department of Defense, Angela King Smith from Atlanta Public Schools, Mary Rosai from Charles Schwab and Mike Ritz from Leadership Rhode Island.
