[Learner S2] Mastering New Subjects and Continuously Improving

On this Theme Thursday Season Two webcast, Jim Collison, Gallup's Director of Talent Sourcing, and Maika Leibbrandt, Gallup Advanced Learning and Development Consultant discussed the theme of Learner.

Learner is a thinking theme that focuses on mastering a lot of different subjects. People exceptionally talented in the Learner theme have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. The process of learning excites them rather than the outcome. People with Learner not only love to learn, they intuitively know how to learn best. It’s like having your eyes and brain open to what’s new; they ask themselves: “what don’t I already know?” It can help a team or organization stay on the leading edge of new processes and technologies.

Raw Learner does not invest in learning. It can be flighty, moving from one new subject to another. Mature Learner dives in and masters, finding relevant subjects that can help themselves and others.

How do you use Learner in your everyday life? Share your thoughts on the Called to Coach Facebook page.

Pressed for time? We now have all of our Theme Thursday videos in short, easy-to-digest snippets in and other Gallup-Certified Strengths Coaches break down the nuances of each theme.

You can register for the next Theme Thursday and all upcoming Gallup Strengths Center webcasts at gallup.eventbrite.com.
