  • Learn how the knowledge that no one excels at everything can bring focus to your life and lead to greater self-confidence and productivity.

On a recent Called to Coach: India Edition, we spoke with Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Harsh Vardhan Jajoo. We talked to Harsh about how he couples his professional experiences with strengths-based development to create a world-class coaching experience.

Since taking the CliftonStrengths assessment, Harsh says he has become much more self-aware and more connected to those around him. Knowing this, he wanted to share this sense of self-actualization with others and help them discover their talents.

He shared a story about a client who, over time, became very disengaged with his life. Harsh said this man's sense of responsibility was so high that he couldn't say no to people, which built up an unmanageable amount of stress. After Harsh helped the man discover his strengths, he understood his talents and was reminded of how he became successful in the first place. Using his strengths, this man is now able to efficiently channel his once debilitating stress positively into his work, giving him a newfound sense of enjoyment in his life.

Discovering your strengths brings with it the realization that no one excels at everything. Those who strive for the ability to please everyone and do everything might have difficulties grasping that idea. Harsh explains, "Self-knowledge leads to self-confidence." When you discover the innate talents that you possess, you gain a better understanding of who you are and how you can productively apply those strengths to your life.
