The Practical Usefulness of Your CliftonStrengths

Webcast Details

  • Gallup Called to Coach Webcast Series
  • Season 2, Episode 10
  • Learn how to put your CliftonStrengths to work for you -- avoiding the weakness "trap" and using them to be more effective at your work and life tasks.

On a recent Called to Coach: Southeast Asia Edition, we spoke with Gallup Senior Consultant Robyn Reilly.

Robyn discovered her strengths while working for one of Gallup's clients in New Zealand, understanding for the first time why she did things a certain way. Whether at work or in her personal life, Robyn always finds herself trying to relate everything she does to her strengths. Strengths not only help her understand why she is doing something, they also help her figure out how she can accomplish tasks more efficiently and effectively.

Individuals whom Robyn has coached find incredible value in discovering their strengths, because most people are so used to trying to fix what they think is wrong with them. They have been told that certain traits they have are faulty, but when Robyn coaches them, they quickly understand that their perceived "weaknesses" are actually strengths.

When people view their full report of all 34 CliftonStrengths themes, they tend to focus on the Bottom 5 to see what they need to work on. Robyn explains that, although it's good to be aware of your Bottom 5 strengths, it's important not to dwell on them. Instead, be proactive in using your Top 5 strengths to figure out how they can supplement your lesser talents.

To learn more about Robyn and her work with strengths, watch the full video above.

Robyn Reilly's Top 5 CliftonStrengths are Activator, Communication, Maximizer, Positivity and Empathy.
